Literal Sense
Oliver was born into a bad life. He grew up with out his mother and didnt know his father. Oliver moved from home to home and didnt have any where to stay. so he was on his on then after he went to the work house and he was sent away on his 9th birthday and had to come back with food.

Its crazy how a person let alone a child go through things that bad. To not have a family is so bad and no one cared about him and how he felt. I think since he has no father or mother or any family to run to he will be lonly for a long time.

1st of all His mother died when he was born. Oliver moved from workhouse to workhouse not home to home. He didn't HAVE to come back with food that wanted to make sure he wasn't soo hungry when he wrnt to the next workhouse
Oliver didnt know his mother either. she died after his birth. Olver was sent from the juvenile center back to the work house at the age of 9. He didnt have enough food to feed himself. I think you need to read the story more and try to get a better understanding of what is going on.
